The English Market

Pigs Back English Market
.
The English Market in Cork is the oldest trading Covered Food Market in Europe. It is open Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5.30 pm. There is an amazing restaurant "The Farmgate" on the balcony upstairs from where you can watch the buzz while eating the local delicacies (sometimes with a piano accompaniment too!!)

Farmhouse Cheeses, Charcuterie, Fresh Breads, Irish Artisan Food, and French Epicerie and Specialities, makes our stall in The English Market the rendez vous of Irish Gourmets and Foodies. Established in 1992, by French Woman Isabelle Sheridan, our stall in the English Market went from strength to strength (has been awarded for the Best Market Stall in Co Cork).

We have an amazing selection of hundreds of Farmhouse Cheeses, mostly from Ireland and Cork County, and, also, direct import from Cheesemongers in France. We have being working directly with Farmhouse Cheeses Makers for the past 20 years and enjoy ‘talking cheese’!!

More than 75% of our cheeses are Irish Farmhouse Cheeses.

Declan Ryan's Arbutus Sourdough Breads are a great accompaniment with our cheeses and Charcuterie. On The Pig’s Back was Arbutus Bread’s first customer!!

Further to an expansive cheese selection, our Selection of Charcuterie is unique in Ireland. Cured hams, french hams, saucissons, chorizos, and salamis are all available at our stall, and, also, our Award-winning Homemade Pates and Terrines.

Our stall in The English Market is your one-stop shop for stocking on your charcuterie, cheese, and antipasti needs in the heart of Cork City.
