The rich, intense quality of good Châteauneuf du Pape is balanced here with a lively, juicy freshness that may be due to scrupulous organic methods, or maybe it's just great winemaking.
This bold red comes from grapes grown in the east of the appellation in a variety of soils: the typical rounded pebbles, galets, sand, sandstone and red clay. Each parcel brings its own characteristics to the final blend, which is partly aged in concrete tanks and partly in big demi-muids barrels before six months in bottle.
The Cascavel wines are polished, authentic and very fairly priced for their quality.
